Blues Images (CAL2013)

Tracks on free CD by Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Blake, Memphis Minnie, Lil McClintock, Buddy Boy Hawkins, Ardell Bragg, Charley Patton, Clifford Gibson, Blind Willie Davis, Rev Emmet Dickenson, Hi Henry Brown, Freddie Spruell, Laura Rucker, Washboard Sam, Harum Scarum and Blind Lemon Jefferson

The 10th anniversary edition of the Blues Image's calendar is now available and, as always, its full of fantastic classic blues images and artwork (as used on original releases by Charlie Patton, Buddy Boy Hawkins, Blind Blake, Clifford Gibson, Harum Scarum & more) plus never-before seen photos of Lil' McClintock and Memphis Minnie.

The free CD is again a beaut, featuring 21 newly re-mastered songs of those illustrated in the calendar plus tracks by Blind Willie Johnson, Ardell Bragg, Rev. Emmet Dickenson, Blind Willie Davis, Hi Henry Brown, Laura Rucker and Freddie Spruell & Washboard Sam.

Many of the songs will be familiar -  though they haven't often sounded this good - but there are plenty of rarities to keep even the most committed collector happy. Indeed, the Take 1 of Charley (Charlie?) Patton's Some Of These Days I'll Be Gone is previously unreleased.

Comments received from customers who got in early and received the catalogue as soon as it arrived have said that this may well be the best edition yet. I'm sure we say this every year but, you know what, they may just have a point this time. Why resist? A hugely enjoyable way to ready yourself for 2013!
